Local AI closes real business tasks end to end
A local agent turned an X thread into a LinkedIn post and article in 63 minutes, asking only for a password and the publishing language. A cloud bot handed its support work over to the local agent via email and Google Drive.
From an X thread to a LinkedIn post and article
Local setup: only Hermes (with no connectors) and local Strata with Qwen on our own hardware. No cloud agents, only local inference. The task: turn one of our own X threads, written from our ideas and technology we verified ourselves, into a LinkedIn post and article.
- Agent: Hermes v0.22.2; model qwen3.8-flash-next-iq3_s (262k context).
- Engine: Strata v0.2.1, ROCm on AMD gfx1201, local network only.
- Hardware: Intel Core Ultra 7 270K, 60.4 GiB RAM, AMD GPU with 16 GiB VRAM, Ubuntu.
- Time: 63 minutes in total, about 51 minutes of active work.
The instruction: read the latest X post and 3–4 replies with solutions, then publish a LinkedIn article in simple business terms, and figure out the rest. The agent worked mostly alone: when direct access returned 403, it found mirrors and other ways to read the posts itself. It asked only for the vault password and the publishing language.
Problems it solved along the way: LinkedIn form fields that did not accept input, an editor that ignored direct changes (solved with a paste event), and a login that took three attempts. On password and prompt issues it retried only after consent. The post and the article went live.
Handover from a cloud bot to the local agent
A second real task: a cloud bot whose subscription was expiring handed its work over to the local Hermes via email and Google Drive, so that the handover history is preserved. The bot had been managing the technical support phone lines, the ticketing system, the supporting VPS server and other tasks.
The instruction to Hermes, in short:
- Connect to Gmail by installing and configuring the official Hermes Gmail connector.
- Find the email with the technical support handover documentation and analyze it carefully.
- Connect to the servers and systems described, identify configuration problems and access difficulties.
- Verify that all systems work and complete every task in the checklist.
- Resolve issues where safe and authorized, document what remains unresolved, and make no destructive changes without approval.
- Finish with a concise report: checks, completed tasks, issues, solutions and remaining work.
What this means for a Box customer
- Routine business tasks can be completed by a local agent with minimal questions.
- Work can move between agents without losing history.
- Destructive changes and sensitive steps wait for human approval.
