General terms of sale B2B (Italian original)

12-month installments for companies

We are building a three-level CLARYEL lineup of local AI systems. Level 1 is a computer with desktop: you use it directly at the desk, with monitor, keyboard and mouse. It is a complete, practical entry-level system priced at €999.

Local AI and cloud AI: why the future is both.

This is not simply a set of components, but a tested, prepared and supportable system with a clear path for further development.

The principle is simple: save money where it makes sense, but not on cooling, reliability or serviceability.

Why used components?

To keep the price at €999, the CPU, motherboard, RAM and GPU are used/refurbished components, purchased from specialized companies.

Details

After preparation, we assemble each system ourselves and perform at least 24 hours of intensive testing: full CPU/GPU load, extensive memory testing and stability checks.

The NVMe drive, power supply, case and cooling are new.

The software installed on the computers we supply is described on a separate page. Installed software: what is on CLARYEL systems

Optional upgrades

Technical details

When ordering or later, users can add:

  • internal and external storage;
  • archiving and backup solutions;
  • remote management of the computer, only with your permission;
  • uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), monitors, keyboards, mice and other peripherals for reliable operation and maintenance;
  • additional support and consulting capabilities.

Use in the office

Level 1 is a computer with a full graphical desktop (Ubuntu Desktop): you use it at the desk with monitor, keyboard and mouse. In a small office, colleagues can take turns at the same workstation; the documents you produce are shared as usual (email, shared folders). With your permission, the computer’s user can also reach it remotely, from a phone. By factory default the screen turns off and the computer goes to sleep after a period of inactivity; you can change these settings.

Warranty, support and consulting

Warranty support is backed by a technical and financial reserve of tested spare components, primarily GPUs, motherboards, RAM and CPUs.

Details

Other major components are new and are covered by a combination of supplier warranties and our own warranty.

Support and consulting are built around voice agents, chat agents and a website communication agent. They advise users, diagnose problems and, with the user’s permission, connect remotely to the computer — without access to personal data.

Phone support is in preparation. Support covers not only the hardware, but the entire software stack, including software installed by the user or by our agents at the user’s request.

Upgrade and development

Technical details

Level 1 is a starting point for those who want to try local AI without a large initial investment.

The system can be developed gradually: upgrade the GPU, increase RAM, expand storage or replace individual components — or move completely to a Level 2 or Level 3 system.

The exact development path depends on the user’s requirements.

Updates and security

The ASUS Z10PA-U8 motherboard of Level 1 is out of production and no longer receives updates from the manufacturer: the last published BIOS is version 3801 of 4 July 2019 and the last management firmware is version 1.16.1 of 8 February 2021. We install the latest available version, but the firmware and BIOS of this model will not be updated any more.

That is why CLARYEL guarantees security at operating-system and software level for 8 years from the date of sale: Ubuntu LTS security updates and updates of our software, processor microcode loaded by the operating system, hardened configuration and mitigations of known vulnerabilities, where available at operating-system level. These updates are free and do not depend on a subscription. Vulnerabilities that exist only in the firmware and cannot be mitigated at operating-system level may remain unfixed: in that case we inform you and tell you which measures are available.

Please take note of these conditions before buying (art. 15.3-bis of the General terms of sale). If you need a platform whose firmware is still supported by the manufacturer, ask us for a suitable configuration.

Price and scalability

The price of €999 reflects the current market situation. The price is valid as of publication, based on current supplier prices.

Current component availability allows this exact configuration to be initially scaled to 10, 100 and potentially even 1,000 systems, subject to changes in pricing and availability.

Box configurations can also be bought in 12 monthly instalments. Instalment plans over 24, 36, 48 and 60 months are in development. Instalments are available to companies that have shown their creditworthiness, under specific written conditions.
